Okay, I’m finally doing it. I’m cleaning and organizing my desk. Anyone want to help me? I love this desk. My friends who help me move it when I relocate hate it. It’s somewhat of an antique. I got it for $5 at my old job’s used office furniture auction. I think it’s from the 50’s or 60’s back when they made these things with real steel and heavy linoleum. No wimpy sheet metal or aluminum here. It probably weighs about 175 pounds completely empty. That’s why my friends hate moving it.
It’s probably going to be at least a three day job. Today I’m concentrating on clearing off the desk to the floor, finding any overdue bills, and paying them. I’ve already found a harmonica, some valium, and some coupons for free food at some local establishments which were mailed to me when I first moved into my house. Hey, if you come help me I’ll split this.. FREE Medium Pizza from Bella Mia Pizza with you. I now actually have space to move my mouse without pushing a pile of papers with it. Have I bitten off more than I can chew here?
Tomorrow: Filing and throwing away stuff like this nearly empty bottle of Advil…
BTW. Don’t get the wrong idea. As most of my friends will tell you, I’m generally a very neat person. My living room and kitchen are usually spotless. I think that my desk is just the one place I feel I can be as disorganized as I want to be.
Post Script: Ah, I knew this would be a good thing… in my cleaning I found something interesting… a coupon for a free companion ticket to anywhere United Airlines flies. This means that when I buy a ticket to anywhere in the world, I can get a second ticket free. So what I will do is first offer it to you faithful Nathon xanga readers. Just leave a comment on this post and I will consider you for travelling with me. There are a few conditions, though. One, it will be free for you if you want to come with me to L.A. in November (I have to be there on business) from Baltimore/Washington, OR if you want to come down with me to Atlanta for the Christmas holiday from Baltimore/Washington. OR two, we can split the cost of a ticket if you can convince me to take a vacation to anywhere you want to go between now and the end of 2003.
yeah, we hated moving that desk. you’d better never ever throw it away because of our blood, sweat and tears moving that thing… well, maybe just sweat….
dude! when in November will you be in LA? i’ll be moving out to NJ in October, and I’d be more than willing to drive down to Baltimore to fly out to LA and visit friends. =) heehee…
Hey Joo, I don’t know when exactly I’m going to be in L.A. in November. I will know better in October. I’ll let you know. Right now, you’re at the head of the pack because you were the first to respond. But if I go on vacation with someone, that will take precedence… sorry. I’ll keep you posted.
