Grand Canyon Log – Epilogue

This was a voyage I’m sure none of us four will ever forget.  I think we all feel a kinship to that place that is special.  Adventure is where you find it.  I still have that stick from the bottom of the Grand Canyon in my living room right now as a reminder of God’s provision in every detail of our lives.  So when I lose perspective on everyday life and feel that God doesn’t care, I see it and it brings me back to the place where all I could do was depend on Him to provide.  All the little nit-picky things about people that just rub me the wrong way – what does that really matter?  Bitterness is really just ingratitude for what He has already provided for us.  Are we to be so arrogant to think we deserve more?  But yet He does give more than we could ever warrant.  And what He gives, this world can not – not even close.  To believe it can is to be the ultimate fool.

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

  1. wow… sounds like you had a very interesting and exciting trip last year.  i know its just one thing to read about your trip…  but to have actually experienced it, im sure it was all that more exciting and different.  its awesome that you can remember things so vividly.  me, on the otherhand… ive already forgotten some things from my trip to cali 2 months ago!
oh yeah.. thx for your comment.  i added a comment for you on my page.  =)

  2. wow. that was a great entry (the series…). i just started to hike… the longest trail being 6 miles, and even THAT was hard. maybe one day i’ll reach a point where i can do this craziness of a hike that you did. although HIKE doesn’t seem to adequately describe what you went through… eek. and what a great reminder that God does provide… 🙂
