Aisha Tyler. I liked her before she was Ross’ girlfriend on Friends (which really didn’t showcase her comedic talent). I used to love watching Talk Soup when she was hosting it. She is hilarious. Her first career was actually as a stand-up comic. Her comedy is very intelligent and a bit unconventional. From the way she talks you can tell she’s really intelligent. She actually graduated from Dartmouth with a degree in Political Science. She won Celebrity Weakest Link. She also seems really down to earth. I just saw her in an interview on the Today Show this morning – that’s what’s inspiring this entry. She was very witty and charming. She was there to promote her new book.
Now, I’m really really not the type of person to be starstruck, but (at least for the time-being) she doesn’t seem like the typical hollywood star… like you could have a chili-dog or go camping with her. I think a date with her would be a lot of fun. I would donate $1000 to her favorite charity for one date (unless it’s a cause I disagree with). I don’t think I could marry her though. The cons outweigh the pros. Here are the pros and cons…

Not sure she’s a Christian
Her exploding career will probably keep her really busy.
She’s about 2 inches taller than me – 6ft, (which isn’t that big a deal).
She’s probably a great date but not really the ‘settling down’ type.
Umm… oh yeah, my parents would KILL me if I married a black woman. Hahaha.

Re. how we respond to an outpouring of God’s grace, I definitely side with learning to trust in God all the more. IMO, there is no guilt when one is washed clean through the blood of Christ. That is the power of the cross.
