Today’s Quotes

“I’m just calling to make sure you’re aware that the tires you just purchased are slightly different in composition than the ones you bought from us two and a half years ago…”

 – a phone call from a sales person from www.tirerack.com, where I had hit the “purchase” button approximately 15 seconds prior… (Big Brother is not only watching… he knows your spending habits)

“would you rather have elderly long-term care or pet insurance benefits?”

– someone from the HR department at my work asking my opinion about new ideas for our benefits package.. (uh, how about long-term care for my elderly pets?)

“do Koreans still eat… you knowFido?

– an Asian co-worker over lunch… (I was having a salami sandwich at the time, thank you…)

“I feel like a million bucks!”

– two different students I tutored today in how to easily solve physics vectors problems, once they “got it.”  (See, this is why I do this…  I only wish they did the same thing in Sunday School.  Oh well, claim your victories where you can, I guess.  BTW, is that what the kids are saying these days as slang, or do I just have weird guys in my class?).

“haha, yeah…”

– the response over IM from a fellow Lost fan after I said that I thought the last couple of episodes were lame and may stop watching if the next few episodes are just as lame.

“3 years passed… what’s changed?”

– an old friend I thought I would never hear from again.

Long term care is the in-thing now, although, when I was at Metlife last year, they were touting how fast commissions could be earned by selling pet insurance…You thought that the last few LOST episodes were lame? I think that this has been the best season by far, although I DO get those occassional “what the?” moments… I can definitely say that last season was far more disappointing at times…
