You slowly open the door and peer inside. It’s dark and you can barely see the outline of a man carrying something rather clumsily. He still seems to be talking to himself, but you can’t make it out. Out to the side you see a table that you could possibly hide behind from where you’ll have an easier time hearing. So you crouch and slowly glide your way over to the table and hide behind it.
Suddenly all the lights come on, and you can see from your hiding place the man dressed in a lab coat at the door dragging a motionless body about the room. After quite a bit of effort, he gets the body onto an examination table to which he secures the limp body by its hands and feet. From here you can also see a well-aged golden retriever that looks like it hasn’t eaten in days.
After a few moments, the body begins to stir. As the old man in the lab coat also notices this, he goes to turn off the overhead lights and shines a single bright light onto the face of the body on the table. As the person on the table wakes, he says something to him that you can’t quite make out, but the one thing that you do hear is a pretty odd question, to which the context is lost to you forever.
“Sunrise or sunset?” he queries.
“Sunrise?” the trapped one replies.
With this, the old man shrieks with joy and says, “That’s what I thought you’d say,” as he turns on something that you can’t see but is very loud. The rest of the scene you observe is best left for another time as it is too traumatic to repeat here.
You duck back into your hiding place and notice for the first time a bottle that says “Drink Me.”
Do you…
drink the contents of the bottle that refers to itself in the first person…
